Just went for my first shakedown run today on my ’78E after a long winter/spring rebuild featuring a complete tear down. Hugh, your new charging system is perfect and the instructions were first class. It inspired me to can the electric starter, yank out all the other 40 year old electrics that were most likely set to lay an egg halfway out on a Sunday afternoon ride, and even rewire it. Couldn’t be happier. All your other hardware like the bar mounts, top motor mounts, etc. fit perfectly and complimented all the other hard work and mods to make it work better while retaining a stock appearance.
