XS650 CDI System for XS650! Fully HHB Tested and Approved, our NEW CDI System is what these bikes have been begging for all along! 100% Crank Driven Ignition, utilizing a pre-programmed advance curve in the CDI Box, and a pickup coil at the flywheel for far more accurate and consistent timing than a cam driven system. No more worries about camchain tension/stretch affecting your timing, and you can remove rotational weight from the camshaft – all good things! Combined with its own internal 200W Charging System for a more compact design with less moving parts than other ignition systems. And best of all, you CAN run totally battery-less if you so choose. Just use a capacitor in place of the battery and you are good to go! If you would like to run a battery (or have to, due to local laws) then wire it just the same using a battery. Options are good, and you get the option of both with the this system. The ignition gets its power from Source Coils on the stator, so even if the regulator was unplugged, the engine will still run. The system works flawlessly. I’ve used ignition systems from the other main sources and I can say with confidence that this is the best one. Removing the cam element makes hiding the wiring easier, it’s super simple to set up and get going quickly. Hugh offers great help and answers even the dumbest of questions. I am still new to building these bikes so I was a little worried that I might be getting myself into too much. The instructions that comes with this kit are great and easy to follow. I had a question about the timing and Hugh got back to me same day. So far it has worked great. Received this system promptly after ordering, very relieved. Installation went well but then had a problem with timing the engine, Hugh helped me and we got it sorted out. The bike starts much easier but did have to adjust the jetting just like he said and the bike did have an aftermarket performance coil on it when it came in but it is a better runner now.
Recently built my first bike, and getting this setup was by far the smartest decision. I had little, to no experience with electrical and now my bike fires up first kick, every time (even the lazy ones). The kit came with a booklet of Incredibly easy to follow and thorough instructions. Install only took a few hours, and customer support was phenomenal. 100% satisfied with how quickly I would get a response about any of the components. Referred a friend to this product; that had been struggling with another setup from another company that gave no instructions and didn’t help at all. Told him to just drop the cash for Hugh’s full CDI system and within a night, a bike that he had been trouble shooting for months ran within a few hours. I will no doubt be putting these into any future XS build. Also purchased the starter delete, nice snug fit. This company makes top quality stuff that I will recommend them until I’m blue in the face.
